iPhone enthusiasts all over the world are continuously looking for more advanced, more innovative and better-designed docks for their beloved gadgets. The sounds gets transmitted from the iPhone to the base of the speaker, where it passes through thick alloy pieces that minimize vibrations, then comes out of the instance through the horn and beautifully enchants our ears. The concept, though it can be considered quite intriguing, will come at a price of around $2,000 for the gold version, while the silver one comes at a lower $1,800. Be it for looks or simply diversity, choosing one of these may prove a nice decision.

Phantom v1610 camera (1,000,000 frames per second)

Phantom v1610 Camera
Vision Research has just unveiled the newest addition to their digital high speed cameras line, the Phantom v1610 camera, which can shoot up to an amazing 1 million frames per second at the lowest resolution. At a resolution of 1280x800px, this new camera can shoot high speed videos at an impression speed of 16,000 frames per second. Even though the company’s most popular camera, the Phantom Flex, which has been introduced last year, is capable of capturing full HD videos (1920x1080px) at 2,800 fps and this new camera can shoot at a maximum resolution of “just” 1280×800, its speed is a lot higher. The frame rate of 1 million fps will be available as an optional FAST feature that can be implemented on request, but without this option the camera can shoot with 600,000 fps at the lowest resolution. Using a widescreen CMOS 35.8 x 22.4 mm sensor, this camera can save footage at the speed of 16 gigapixels per second (the Phantom Flex saved 6 gigapixels/second) and the sensor’s pixel size is 28 microns with 12-bit depth per pixel. The camera comes with either 24Gb, 48GB or 96GB of internal ram and it’s also compatible with the non volatile Phantom CineMag storage system which features up to 512GB of capacity. The New Vision Research Phantom v1610 camera will cost around $100,000.

Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang resigns, shares jump

erry Yang, who co-founded Yahoo! nearly 17 years ago and had an ill-fated stint as chief executive, abruptly resigned from all of his positions with the struggling Internet company.
Yang, 43, a Web pioneer and one of the original dotcom billionaires, stepped down, effective immediately, from the board of directors of Yahoo! and from the boards of Yahoo! Japan and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.
Yahoo! shares rose more than 3.5 percent to $15.99 in after-hours trading following the announcement that Yang was leaving the Sunnyvale, California, company.
Yahoo! did not name a replacement for Yang on the board and technology blog All Things Digital, citing sources close to the situation, said four other board members may also step down soon, including chairman Roy Bostock.
In a letter to Bostock, Yang, who held the title of "Chief Yahoo!," said "my time at Yahoo!, from its founding to the present, has encompassed some of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of my life. However, the time has come for me to pursue other interests outside of Yahoo!
"I am enthusiastic about the appointment of Scott Thompson as Chief Executive Officer and his ability, along with the entire Yahoo! leadership team, to guide Yahoo! into an exciting and

Bum's the word in Japan security scans

Put your fingerprint scanners away. Stand aside iris measurers. Buttocks are the new way to prove who you are.

A team of Japanese scientists claim their pressure sensor sheet can accurately identify an individual's backside and when placed on a driver's seat could be used as a last line of defence to stop someone else driving away your motor.
"The sheet has 360 sensors, which collect data for 39 features to recognise a person, such as pressure patterns and the dimensions of the buttocks," said Dr. Shigeomi Koshimizu, who led the research.
Koshimizu, an associate professor at Tokyo-based Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology, said his device is 98 percent accurate and far less onerous than conventional biometrics as it requires nothing more than someone to sit naturally.
But, he added, there are still a few hurdles to clear before the technology makes it to market.
"The recognition tends to be compromised by different clothes," he said. "Sensors read different signals from a pair of trousers and a pair of jeans."

Koobface computer virus gang unmasked

Online security researchers claimed Tuesday to have identified the members of a Russian gang of cyber criminals behind the Koobface computer virus which has attacked Facebook and other sites.
Facebook said meanwhile that its security team had helped knock out a computer server which controlled a Koobface "botnet" of malware-infected personal computers.
According to Jan Droemer, an independent computer security researcher, and Dirk Kollberg of security firm SophosLabs, the five members of the Koobface gang live in St. Petersburg, Russia.
In a blog post, Sophos said evidence and the identities of the five Koobface suspects has been handed over to law enforcement.
The Koobface virus first emerged in 2008, spreading in the form of messages with subject lines such as "You look just awesome in this new movie."
Users who clicked on the message were

PARIS: A 900-million-dollar orbital observatory has completed the biggest-ever search for remnants of the "Big Bang" that created the Universe, the European Space Agency said on Monday.

"Planck has been a wonderful mission; spacecraft and instruments have been performing outstandingly well, creating a treasure trove of scientific data for us to work with," Jan Tauber, the agency's chief scientist for the Planck project, said.

Planck is designed to pick up tiny variations in temperature in microwave energy that

Banyan Tree Samui Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand

The Banyan Tree Samui is one of Thailand’s best resorts, offering high-class services and luxury in gorgeous pool villas from Koh Samui, just 30 minutes away from Samui International. It’s the perfect spot spend a dream vacation and enjoy Thailand’s traditional and most common piece of furniture – the triangle pillow. Though it may seem strange to see a pillow on the ground to a new-come tourist, the Thais are looking at it as its normal purpose. Everyone is welcome to do what they want with it, be it lounging, sleeping or leaning on with a cup of coffee in hand.

Going out of talks about traditions, we find that Banyan Tree Koh Samui is set on a rocky beach, surrounded by 78 villas that belong to the resort complex. Each of the villas has its own private pool or tourists can dip into the large common pool of the resort. Plus, the villas are fitted with sliding glass-doors that open towards the pool and the patio. The area owns a record, for the region’s largest Hydrotherapy Spa. This is comprised within the Banyan Tree Spa Samui Rainforest, probably the best attraction in the area. There’s also the possibility to take part at Yoga lessons and stretching in the Yoga Room, or to grab a book and hide inside the Library. The culinary experiences enjoyable here can vary, from traditional to world-renowned dishes. The Lobby and Pool Bars offer cold drinks, The Edge is an international-food restaurant, while Thai at Saffron greets you with authentic dining experiences. Furthermore, kids have their own club, as the adults do, so you wouldn’t have to worry about them and get to spend some private time with your beloved one. US Army's A160 Drone-Copter

US Army's A160 drone-copter with 1.8 gigapixel camera: Starting in July of 2012, the United States Army will deploy three Boeing A160 Hummingbird drone-copter with 1.8 gigapixel camera to Afghanistan as part of a one-year trial program. Unlike the Predator drones already in combat, the A160 is a rotor-based aircraft capable of vertical take-offs and landings. What's more, the craft will be affixed with the DARPA-developed ARGUS-IS imaging system -- which boasts a 1.8 gigapixel camera the Army says can "track people and vehicles from altitudes above 20,000 feet." The A160 Hummingbird platform will provide the Army with the ability and flexibility to: take off and land without a runway; fly for twelve hours or more without refueling; and monitor up to 65 enemies of the State simultaneously. Test flights of the unmanned chopper are scheduled for early 2012 in Arizona, but residents hoping to get a glimpse of the A160 in action best have great eyesight -- the ARGUS-IS system can see targets from almost 25 miles down range.
